Hey Pyro. I have 2 questions if you can help me.

1 - What are the current quality of color map supported? I know it was BMP 8 bits.
2 - I don't know if it's a bug, but I can't add an plugin icon, just don't work. Any idea of what's happening?

A color map has to be indexed to 240 colors (out of the 256 total of 8bit BMP). Photoshop can do this, but I'm not sure what free programs can do it.

How are you trying to add the plugin icon? The plugin icon is the one that shows up when you select a plugin to activate for single player or multiplayer.

Adobe Fireworks can export to BMP 8 bits too. I was wondering if with this new version (1.7.1) it's possible to add better color maps (like these textures for download at thetain.net).

I was trying to add plugin icon with Fear. Build plugin file option. It worked once (Fear 1.3 or something). I don't know why it's not working anymore.

I guess I forgot to reply to your reply. Still having issues adding a plugin icon? Make sure it is an 8bit BMP image. The first 2 colors (of the color table) should not be used by any part of the image.

As for textures for color maps like you see with some addons... You need a program called Oak to detail texture meshes. Currently Oak is in private beta, but it is near public beta. You can either wait until then or go onto Magma and ask to be a private beta tester (if you are not one of them yet).

Ok I'll try this color table thing. I think there is where I do it wrong.
